On Friday September 19, the Student Council Association hosted a carnival themed event in Turf 2 prior to the homecoming game. All proceeds from the ticket sales went towards the school and future underclassman events. The carnival was a tie in to the dance and its theme, ““Fly Away to Rio” and l featured many games and activities such as an obstacle course, limbo, face painting, pin the tail on the bolt, and skeeball.
“The most popular game was limbo,” said senior Nolan Brinker, although opinions varied, with senior Keria Kavulic insisting that the most popular game was one where kids could fish for prizes.
““During class we’ve had to make posters for all the events and games for the kids to play,” said senior SCA member Katie Zipper, when asked about the more than week long prep required.
Unlike previous years, the weather stayed nice and outside of the gated turf there were picnic tables set up where people could sit and enjoy food and company. Food trucks at the event included Kona Ice, Brusters, and a grilled cheese food truck.
The whole carnival set up was also right across from the football field and wrapped at the same time that the game was about to start.
