A central part of the inaugural Lightridge parade was the class floats, with each class being

responsible for their own uniquely designed creation. Lightridgenews.com interviewed SCA

leaders Adam Domanico and Ava Samson during the float building process.

Each float had a different decade for their theme associated with the grade. For the juniors it

was a 70s theme. Junior representative Ava Samson said the inspiration for their 70s float came

from “ That 70’s Show” and “looking online at different hippie buses that we’ve seen.”

The SCA experienced many difficulties in constructing the floats. Domanico said that their

biggest difficulty was “dealing with the weather right now.” The junior team also experienced

difficulties in their float construction “wind flipped over their hippie bus” according to Ava

Samson.
