On October 24, senior Cooper Gaull released “Hologram” his first EP. This longer form project has been in the works for a very long time, as he had previously just released singles. Gaull wrote multiple songs a week for almost two years until over 250 songs were written. Gaull then recorded about 10 of the songs he had written and then chose the best six to include. The six songs featured on “Hologram” are: “Angel,” “Bullseye,” “Fix Yourself,” “Hologram,” “Didn’t Have To Leave,” and “Limerence.”
Although planning the EP had been in the works for over a year, recording and publishing took one month each. Gaull’s motivation for this album derives from personal experiences and emotions. He also draws inspiration from artists he loves.
Gaull is inspired by artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray, The 1975, and Phoebe Bridgers.
His favorite song on the EP is entitled “Angel” and is the first song on the tracklist.
“I wrote Angel in March of this year and it poured out of me in 45 minutes. I feel like it’s my most lyrically mature work I’ve ever done, and it even has about 20 tracks of vocals layered in, which almost makes you feel like you’re floating,” said Gaull.
Gaull’s biggest goal with his music is to get people to listen to it and resonate with the lyrics and melodies. He promotes all of his music content on his social medias like Instagram and Tiktok. His music is available for streaming on Apple Music and Spotify. As for future plans he is taking a bit of a hiatus to build up finances for more content but still continues to write music and new songs every day.
“I am thinking about music constantly all the time, there’s always plans for more!” said Gaull.
